Finally its after CNY already. All the open house are done and those biscuits can be all place in the office for everyone to finish them. Back to those normal working routine and house chores, but there is one difference here in Kuching for us.

Our gal, Brenda can finally come home more often. We can spend more time at home with her now. She is finally more independent and understands that she need to be left alone at times when mummy and daddy needs to do rush off some work at home before bringing her out shopping! (well, not all the time she understands that but, we are still letting her learn even if she is going to cry till tearing the roof down!) :)

I bring her out of the house using her bike every weekend mornings and weekday evenings so that she will understand that coming home doesn't means that we have to go shopping or we are in the room only. Its more like introducing her a new part of life, part of growing up. Plus walking outside with fresh air is good for me now. I should walk more and exercise more to keep myself fit and healthy! Looking at her picture now, will just melt my heart to spend every moment with her. She is just so adorable...

Love from your mummy...merlye...

A Brand New Year 2009!!

GUESS WAT ARE THESE!! ITS J.CO DONUTS in Pavillion! We celebrated our new year at KL together with Ah Jo, Geoffrey, Brenda, my family and myself! We were all so spoiled, freshly squeezed juice every day, clean laundry (perfectly folded shirts), wake up at any time and we can still go shopping! We even had those delicious donuts as brunch, thanks to ah jo!! hehe! It was really really delicious! I purposedly ordered cold chocolate drink with the donuts, but everyone says its a bit too sweet. But, i love the choc-ly morning-noon!!

We did not take much photos for this trip, but this is one of my favourite that I must share it with everyone. Brenda is following daddy everywhere! She loves playing with Geoffrey this trip, we even manage to bring her to IKEA! Lucky baby, she got her own baby lazy chair when she is only 13 months old! I wonder when will geoff n myself gettting ours! :p

The usual monday morning!!

Every weekend we bring Brenda home with us. The five of us had good time sharing stories about the past and discussing about the future. We planned our dinner outings and Brenda is always given the priorities on whether it safe for her to be there and such.

Weekends for Brenda is all about soaking long enough in the bathtub with all her bath toys in the tub. Teaching her to sing and dance along with the music from TV. Recognising our faces and things surrounding her. She is able to determine which one is mummy, daddy, grandpa and grandma; cars, lights, pretty baby, outing time, bath time, food time and sleeping time!

Now she is able to walk for more than 5 steps without support towards a chair, sofa, toys and all of us. She is very independent now... This explains why she can sit on my lap on Monday morning while I am doing my make up and blowing my hair. She usually wakes up and we place her on the baby mat with all her toys while we get ready to work. She will come crawling to the dressing table asking to be carried while she work her fingers on everything in the drawer! I tried the hairband on her, and ask her "where is the pretty baby?"; she will point back to herself. I read the child progress chart, we can always ask simple questions to baby and praise her if she got it right to improve her own confidence! Mostly it will be all correct answers because I will only ask questions that she knows the answer, so that she will not feel stress and depress. I want my baby to be happy and learn to be confident while she is growing up!

One yr Old in Kuching

November 2008 is Brenda's first year of birthday! I have planned this evening for weeks after coming back from KL. We had the small gathering with Geoff's both grandpas and our family. We have asked the maid to prepare all the food while we ordered the home made cake from aunty Jenny King. Lovely cake..

Brenda has enjoyed everyone's company and all the new presents. She was busy playing basketball with Daddy Geoff while Mummy Merlye is chasing all the mosquitoes away from both of them! Those small little annoying bugs just can't leave us alone! Gosh.

Geoff also took this very fine day to chit chat with the grandpa (Brenda's great grandpa), unfortunately his lovely grandma was unable to join us. But, I am sure she can see us from above blessing all of us with her love and prayers. His grandma has raised him up well, though he is one weak baby when he was first brought to her hands. He was a very ill baby, fortunately grandma has nursed and taught him well. Geoff is now a grown up man with two kids and one lovely wife -> which is me!

After everyone has finished their meals, we started the desserts. Which is the cakes, jelly and some finger food. Brenda attention's was quickily switched to the cake, because there are two kitties toys on the cake. I bought her a party hat as well, but she don't really like it cos she refuse to keep it on his head! :) But, tonight is all about making her happy and special. Giving her all the love in the world! We also let her tasted her own birthday cake!

We ended the evening by saying good bye to everyone, while Geoff and myself decided to bring Brenda home for the night! We played as a family of three for the whole night, till its almost Brenda's sleeping time. She finishes her milk and rubbing her eyes on her dad's shoulder while still finding things to play. We allow her to play for a little while more, then its really time for her to sleep before she gets too grumpy. Geoff switches off the downlights and turn on the dim light, putting her down slowly on the bed and passing her all the mini bolster n pillows. Looking at her face, I whisper to her...You are always our pride and joy, happy birthday Brenda and may you have sweet dreams. I tug her up to her pillow, sharing my blanket with her and there we doze off together. A wonderful evening indeed..
